Middle Ground Media is responsible for the personal information submitted through this site. Use the private request form on this page for privacy questions or rights requests.
What we collect
We collect the topic, words, experiences and evidence links you choose to submit. Your name and email are optional on the contribution form. We also record your consent, moderation and editorial decisions, and basic technical security information needed to operate the site.
Why we use it
We use contributions for private moderation, evidence research and editorial review. Because a contribution may reveal political opinions or other sensitive information, we ask for your explicit consent before accepting it. If you separately opt in to contact, we may email you about that contribution.
Who sees it
Submissions are available only to authorised Middle Ground moderators and the service providers needed to host and secure the site. We do not sell personal data or use contribution details for advertising. Automated screening may flag risk, but a human makes every editorial decision.
How long we keep it
Private contributions are normally kept for no more than 12 months while moderation or research is active. Contact details are removed when no longer needed and no later than six months after a final decision, unless a conversation is still active. Rejected, abusive or spam submissions may be kept for up to 90 days for security and safeguarding. Privacy requests may be kept for up to 12 months as a compliance record.
Publication
Approval in the moderator queue still keeps a contribution private. We will seek separate permission before publishing identifiable words or contact details. Anonymised themes may inform editorial research without identifying you.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing invalid. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or deleting information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and international processing
The public site does not use non-essential advertising or analytics cookies. The private moderator area uses essential sign-in technology. Hosting suppliers may process data outside the UK under appropriate legal safeguards.

We will update the date and wording on this page when our practices materially change.
